NEW YORK — Gov. Andrew Cuomo will close indoor dining in New York City as Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to surge in the city and elsewhere.
“We said that we would watch it, if the hospitalization rate didn’t stabilize, we would close indoor dining. It has not,” Cuomo told reporters Friday.
"We’re going to close indoor dining on Monday. Outdoor dining and takeout continues.”Cuomo indicated the decision was likely earlier this week and laid out a series of other measures to address the surge in cases throughout the city and state.
“Outside of [the city] in the orange zones we’re going to watch the indoor dining data.” he added. “We’re going to watch over the weekend and make any adjustments next week."
