New Yorkers should be prepared for a potential shelter in place order largely confining them to their homes in the next 48 hours, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday.
The city and state will make a joint decision on whether to order residents to remain in their home, as San Francisco did on Monday, as the number of confirmed virus in the five boroughs rose to 814 today.
“All New Yorkers need to understand it’s a possibility,” de Blasio told reporters at City Hall. “It’s gotten to the point where a decision has to be made very soon.”
