Senate Intelligence Committee details Russian activities to disrupt 2016 vote

The Senate Intelligence Committee issued on Thursday the first of its five-part report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The 67-page document, which has been cleared by the U.S. intelligence committee, lays out a series of public and classified findings and recommendations that are the result of the panel's roughly two-and-a-half year investigation examining the Moscow-led interference campaign in the last presidential election.

"The Russian government directed extensive activity, beginning in at least 2014 and carrying into at least 2017, against U.S. election infrastructure at the state and local level," the report states, but the committee found "no evidence" any votes were changed or voting machines were manipulated.
