Pro-Inslee super PAC to hit rivals on climate during debate

Act Now on Climate, the super PAC supporting Washington Gov. Jay Inslee's presidential campaign, plans to air a TV ad attacking five of Inslee's rivals during this week's Democratic presidential debates.

The ad hits former Vice President Joe Biden, South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and Sen.

Bernie Sanders, saying the leading contenders for the Democratic nomination have not made climate change a high priority.

The pro-Inslee super PAC is spending six figures to show the ad nationally on CNN during this week's debates in Detroit and continue airing it on broadcast TV in Iowa for another week, in the Des Moines and Cedar Rapids media markets.

"When your house is on fire, it's obvious what's your top priority," the ad's narrator says over images of burning buildings and flooded streets. "When the world's on fire, there shouldn't be any question either."

The ad then shows the images of the five candidates, who have led the Democratic pack in polling and fundraising this summer.

"Only Governor Jay Inslee has the record and plan to fix it," the narrator continues. "Inslee is a bold environmental leader with the gold standard plan that is visionary and comprehensive."
