Hope Hicks, a former longtime confidant of President Donald Trump, will testify behind closed doors before the House Judiciary Committee, Chairman Jerry Nadler announced.
Hicks, who served as a top aide to Trump’s presidential campaign and in the White House, will answer lawmakers’ questions next Wednesday as part of the committee’s investigation into whether Trump obstructed special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
Her appearance before the panel will mark the first time that a current or former Trump aide will answer questions as part of the Democratic obstruction probe.
